MANY-IN-ONE TOOL all TWINS 1951-1969
To remove the crankshaft so you can clean the slingers, you gotta have this one. It holds the flywheel, removes the timing case cover, crankshaft timing gear, front bearing carrier, camshaft timing gear from the camshaft, rear main bearing and the flywheel. It will also press back on the front bearing carrier, both timing gears, rear main bearing and the generator ball bearing. Replaces Matra numbers 282 292 311 355a 499 499/5 535 536 5038 5038/1 5039

Be advised that the slingers are cupped pieces of sheet metal that act as oil filters for the /2. They should probably be cleaned every 20,000 - 30,000 miles to avoid irreparable damage to the connecting rod big end bearings. As they say, take care of your crank and it will take care of you.

I-TOOL  R24 R25 R26 & R27 CYCLES (and for ISETTA 300 & 250 CARS)
This tool is for disassembly and reassembly of the single cylinder engines to provide slinger access and/or other bottom-end work.  It holds the flywheel; removes the generator bearing, crankshaft sprocket, front bearing carrier, camshaft, threaded oil drive cover, flywheel and the rear main bearing (will not remove the rear main bearing on the R24 and R25). It will also press back on the front bearing carrier, timing sprocket, generator bearing and the rear main bearing. Replaces Matra numbers 282 299 299a 311 355a 355/8 355/9 467 498 535 5022 5038/1 W5038 5047.

REAR MAIN BEARING ALIGNER

DIAL INDICATOR HOLDER TO MEASURE FLYWHEEL RUNOUT and END PLAY
To minimize engine vibration and prevent premature failure of the transmission input shaft bearing, I really think the runout of the flywheel should be checked, and kept to less than .004” (.1mm). From 1970 on it can also be used to measure crankshaft end play. You will need a standard AGD dial indicator to use this one (see below)

(0.2 lb)
CRANKSHAFT TRUING STAND PRE-1970
For real hard core mechanics only. You use it to measure the crank runout when you are truing it or if you dropped it on the floor. It will also measure the clearance between the connecting rod and the crank pin. You will need a AGD type dial indicator with it (see below)

NOTE: New connecting rod and pin clearance is about .0001” (.0025mm). Reasonable used ones have about .0004-.0006” (.01-.015mm) clearance. Depending on the oil viscosity, engine temperature etc.; and due to the general quietness of these engines, I think rods will start to make an audible knocking noise with a clearance of about .0012” (.03mm).

DIAL INDICATOR
Used with the Crankshaft truing stand, The Flywheel runout fixture, and the Front end alignment tools. .0005” resolution, 1-inch range

PUSHROD TUBE DRIFT 1951-95 AIRHEADS
DRIFT 1: Replaces Matra 530a, used to remove/install the chromed tubes on the top of the 1951-69 cylinders and I believe also all post 1969 airheads. Made from aluminum so as to not damage the tube. May need occasional dressing with a file if used a lot.

DRIFT 2: Replaces BMW 211 (11.1.600) used to push the chromed ring on the pushrod tube against the rubber grommet in the engine block to prevent oil leaks. 1951-1981 moves ring, 1981 on moves pushrod tube and brazed on ring together. Also aluminum so as not to mar.

FLYWHEEL HOLDER 1970 on AIRHEADS
Uh, this keeps the flywheel of all 1970 and later airheads from rotating while loosening or tightening the flywheel bolts. It is the same tool used for the same purpose on the /2 where it replaces Matra 311 in the MANY-IN-ONE and also BMW 292 and 11 2 800.

To pull the cam bearing (6203) out of the blind hole in the back of the pre 1970 engine block, as well as the 3203 and 6203 bearings supporting the intermediate shaft in the 4 speed tranny. These bearings will usually fall out if the case is heated, but if you are having trouble with one of them
