FINAL DRIVE OIL SEALS AND GASKETS 1955-1995 TWINS
There are three oil seals in the final drive. One on the input (driveshaft) side, one on the output (wheel) side, and one buried inside, which is always fun to replace.     (.2 lb each)

Viton is more wear resistant and in the presence of heat, oxygen and ozone remains supple much longer than Nitrile, but you can expect Nitrile to serve well in this application for a decade or two
