I-TOOL
for ISETTA 300 & 250 CARS and R24 R25 R26 & R27 CYCLES
This tool is for disassembly and reassembly of the single
cylinder engines to provide
slinger access and/or other bottom-end work. It holds the
flywheel; removes the generator bearing, crankshaft sprocket,
front bearing carrier, camshaft, threaded oil drive cover,
flywheel and the rear main bearing (will not remove the rear
main bearing on the R24 and R25). It will also press back on the
front bearing carrier, timing sprocket, generator bearing and
the rear main bearing. Replaces Matra numbers 282 299 299a 311
355a 355/8 355/9 467 498 535 5022 5038/1 W5038 5047. |

These vehicles used slingers that need to be cleaned. Use this
tool to pull the flywheel main bearing without crushing the

PISTONS - ISETTA 250 and 300
These are relatively high (10-12%) Silicon content cast pistons
with an expansion rate equivalent to the original ones.
For this reason the stock specified clearance is used. The 300 has
additional fins under the crown for increased cooling area and
added strength but the extra weight is offset by lightened wrist pins
that have tapered inside diameters. |

in the bore. I suggest you avoid using the more commonly
available Nitrile as at operating temperature it tends to

ENGINE SLINGER CLEANING
We have made prototypes of the tools needed to
disassemble/reassemble these engines, but currently do not think
there is sufficient demand to put them in production. Until
demand justifies production we are offering a slinger cleaning
and bottom end rebuild service. The labor cost to dis/reassemble
and clean a bottom end from one of these cars, excluding any
crankshaft rebuilding that may be needed.....$ 650 (Please email
